Andy Rubin – Meeting An Eyewitness to History


 
In early 2011, I had finished reading The Prime Ministers, an excellent book written by Yehuda Avner.  Yehuda had served as a speechwriter and personal advisor to prime ministers Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin and Menachem Begin. From a personal perspective of the critical events and pivotal decisions in the formative years of the Jewish state, Yehuda's book revealed amazing insights into the lives and accomplishments of these legendary Israel leaders. That same year, I was in Israel on an Israel Bonds delegation.  At a dedication event, I heard Yehuda's name being acknowledged in the audience. Afterwards, I sought him out, and was thrilled to spend time with a gracious man, who was, literally, an eyewitness to the birth and success of the State of Israel.
