New Finance Ministry Accountant General Visits Israel Bonds Headquarters

Rony Hizkiyahu, appointed accountant general by Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon in November 2016, was welcomed to Israel Bonds corporate headquarters in New York on June 14.

The accountant general, who received unanimous approval from the cabinet, was praised in a statement for his  "vast experience in the public and private sector (and) his service in the Ministry of Finance will be a great assistance in strengthening the Israeli economy, continuing the responsible management of Israel's debt, and maintaining the country's high credit rating."

Hizkiyahu came to the Finance Ministry after serving the past four years as chairman of the First International Bank of Israel. Previously, he was supervisor of banks from 2006-2010 during Stanley Fischer's term as governor of the Bank of Israel.
 
Hizkiyahu represented the Finance Ministry at the Israel Bonds lunch and dinner with Warren Buffett on June 15.
