On November 12, legendary real estate developer Larry Silverstein paired with investment icon David M. Rubenstein for an exclusive Israel Bonds real estate industry event viewed by over 1,000 participants from the U.S. and Canada via Zoom, Facebook and YouTube.
During the intimate Q&A session, Silverstein covered a range of topics, including ownership of the Twin Towers, which he had purchased just prior to the 9/11 terror attacks. When asked by Rubenstein why he decided to rebuild, Silverstein replied, “I’m a New Yorker – everything that comes from my life came from being a New Yorker.”
He also spoke emotionally about Israel and Israel Bonds. “On my first trip to Israel, I realized this was an exquisite country... and seeing firsthand the impact that Israel Bonds had, I became very involved.”
The event was emceed by Bonds VP for Sales Stuart Garawitz, with the participation of New York Region Chair Martin Oliner. New York Real Estate Division co-chairs Gary Jacob and Michael Stoler made virtual presentations of the Israel Bonds Legends Award and 70th Anniversary Scroll of Honor to Silverstein.
