A record attendance of 560 people from the South Palm Beach County Community joined together for the Fifth Annual Unity for Israel Reception at B’nai Torah Congregation on November 29, 2018. Congregants and rabbis from 12 synagogues— Anshei Emuna Congregation, B’nai Torah Congregation, Boca Jewish Center/Shaaray Tefilla, Boca Raton Synagogue, Congregation B’nai Israel, Congregation Shaarei Kodesh, Congregation Torah Ohr, Delray Orthodox Synagogue, Temple Anshei Shalom, Temple Beth El of Boca Raton, Temple Beth Shalom, Temple Sinai— participated. In addition to honorees from each synagogue, rabbis from all three streams of Judaism— Orthodox, Reform and Conservative— came together on the bimah to lead the group in a prayer for Israel. Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis was also honored for his 50 percent increase in the Israel bond holdings of Florida’s Treasury.
