Israel Bonds New Leadership Celebrates Israel throughout Parade Weekend

5/31/2019

In a series of inspiring events culminating in the annual Celebrate Israel Parade in New York on June 2, Bonds New Leadership representatives kicked off the festivities with a national New Leadership council meeting and lunch on May 31 hosted by new co-chairs Hadassah Backman and Hannah Niman and cabinet, followed by an elaborate Shabbat dinner at The Jewish Museum which sold out almost immediately, attracting a crowd of over 200 from the U.S. and Canada. Guests were delighted by a tour of the museum’s exhibits along with dinner and music by an acapella group.

As Shabbat came to a close, New Leadership colleagues ventured to Session 73, a live music venue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side which hosted over 40 young Bonds leaders and was held in appreciation for the efforts of the national regional council and the host committee in assembling the spirited weekend. Attendees dined on bar appetizers and listened to local bands play their favorites.

As the Celebrate Israel Parade day arrived on June 2, New Leadership representatives assembled for a mimosa brunch at Bonds’ headquarters, gathered their Bonds visors, t-shirts and flags to wear and wave in pride at the parade, and finally marched along with over 70 New Leadership members, including Bonds’ leadership and staff, up Fifth Avenue in delight amongst a crowd of thousands. As the Bonds theme for 2019 commemorates the organization’s storied tradition of leadership, following behind the participants was a video screen displaying nearly seven decades of notable highlights.
