PM Netanyahu: "For 65 Years Your Work Has Been Invaluable"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin both addressed an international Israel Bonds delegation on May 15, culminating a week-long visit in celebration of Yom Ha'atzmaut, Israel's independence day.

Delegates were hosted by the prime minister in his office as he accepted the the Israel Bonds 65th anniverary medal and posed for a group photo. The prime minister, a longtime advocate of the Bonds enterprise, said, “For 65 years your work has been invaluable.”

President Reuven Rivlin welcomed the delegation to his official residence, and told participants, “Israel Bonds is not just a way to show support for Israel, it is a way to show faith in Israel – faith in our growth, faith in our development and faith in our future.”

The delegation coincided with the 65th anniversary of the launching of the Bonds program, and, in recognition of the historic occasion, President Rivlin was presented with a framed commemorative Israel Bonds 65th anniversary medal.  The event was reported in numerous publications, including the Jerusalem Post

Other memorable moments included the commemoration of Yom Ha’zikaron (Memorial Day) and celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day); and meetings with prominent officials including Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat; MK Tzachi Hanegbi, chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee; Eli Groner, director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office; and Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav.
