NEW YORK – March 26, 2025 – Last night, Israel Bonds hosted Eden Golan, an Israeli pop music sensation, on New York’s Upper East Side to raise awareness for the Israeli organization the Hibuki Project, a therapeutic program that helps children suffering from trauma. The evening featured remarks from Dr. Shai Hen-Gal, the psychologist who developed Hibuki, and a performance by Golan as guests enjoyed cocktails and light refreshments.
“The Israeli spirit is even stronger thanks to incredible individuals such as those behind the Hibuki Project,” said Dani Naveh, President and CEO of Israel Bonds. “At Israel Bonds, we are proud to foster these connections, building a better future for Israel and ensuring these initiatives continue to make a lasting difference.”
Dr.Hen-Gal took to the stage to speak on the importance of the Hibuki Project, an initiative that focuses on the psychological toll that war can have on children. Hibuki, which comes from “Hibuk,” the Hebrew word for hug, is a plush stuffed dog designed to bring comfort and safety to children.
“I am grateful to Israel Bonds and all those joining us in our efforts tonight,” said Dr. Hen-Gal. “Hibuki’s mission is simple: to provide children with a safe and supportive way to begin healing. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of Israeli children, teaching them resilience and allowing them hope for their future.”
The therapeutic toy – a dog with long arms that wraps around your neck while you hold him – allows children to process difficult emotions by projecting their feelings onto the animal. Hibuki is a volunteer-led project that assists children in expressing their experiences and initiating the healing process and has been instrumental in helping Israeli children after October 7th.
Following the remarks on Hibuki, Golan performed her hit songs “Hurricane” and “Older”. The singer, who represented Israel in the 2024 Eurovision song contest, also participated in a Q and A, where she spoke about the power of music in bringing people together.
“Music has always been a way for me to connect with others, and tonight, I’m proud to use my platform to support the Hibuki project,” said Golan. “I’m honored to be part of this incredible night, and I want to thank Israel Bonds for hosting this event. These children are the future of Israel, and together, we can make a real difference in their lives.”
